May the good Lord hold Eric and both Joan and you, Mark in the palm of his hand and keep you close to his heart till you see your son again. He is the light of your life and always will be, God bless you both as you go through this trying time. You and Eric will be forever in my prayers.

Mother of a 4 month old
I am very sorry for your family's loss. I realize that Eric died a few years ago and I am just writing a message now, but your beautiful, angelic son is still on my mind. Especially after having a son of my own, I know the magnitude to which parents worry. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for being selfless and taking the time to warn the public about choking hazards. It's a shame your son had to be taken from you at an early age. He had everything to live for, however, I feel that when God takes a child that young, he wants the child back so he can be one of his angels. There is no doubt in my mind that your son is up in Heaven, he is your little angel and he is watching over you. I've read on this tribute website how Eric was very perceptive and smart for a 3-yr. old, which leads me to believe that your little son is up in Heaven protecting you and watching over your family. It breaks my heart to know of such a trajedy like this- but at the same time I feel you and your family are very strong, inspirational and motivated individuals. Your family seems very, very loving and wonderful. I know you will never be the same until you meet with your son again. God Bless you and your family. Your son Eric will be in my prayers tonight. I loved your poems and I will say your son Eric's name because he is still with you and your family, and he is with me in my thoughts even though I am a stranger. I hope God gives you the strength to continue your journey in life and although Eric can not be seen or touched, he is with you. One day you and Eric will cross paths again and that will be the day you can truly smile whole heartedly..and mean it.

Dear Mark & Joan,
On Eric's 10th birthday, he is not with you, but he is within you. We see his curiosity and wonder about life when we see you.

To Joan and Mr. Adler,

I thank you both for your time and attention over the years. As a parent of a young child, I think of you often. I am moved by your website and I believe your son is a special boy. It is inconceivable to lose a child, but your love for Eric and your dedication to his memory is inspirational. I am very sorry for your loss and I will keep your family in my prayers.

Fondly,
Sandy Schuler
